It started off so well
They said we made a perfect pair
I clothed myself in your glory and your love
How I loved you
How I cried...
The years of care and loyalty
Were nothing but a sham it seems
The years belie we lived a lie
I love you till I die
Save me save me save me
I can't face this life alone
Save me save me save me...
I'm naked and I'm far from home

The slate will soon be clean
I'll erase the memories
To start again with somebody new
Was it all wasted,
All that love?...
I hang my head and Ill advertise
A soul for sale or rent
I have no heart I'm cold inside
I have no real intent
Save me save me save me
I can't face this life alone
Save me save me ooooohhhhh...
I'm naked and I'm far from home

Each night I cry I still believe the lie
I love you till I die

Save me save me save me
Don't let me face my life alone
Save me save me ooh...
I'm naked and I'm far from home

Amazing how an old song can change meanings for you as you live you life.

What to do, What to say?

Well really have not much to blog about.

Got a crossover cable for getting the network up and running at home. I've now sucessfully screwed up my XP box to the point where I can't hook up to the internet. Luckly the Linux box still connects. I swear if I don't figure this out soon, I'm bringing in the pros.

Been kinda down the past couple days. Sometimes I think I'm just in constant denial. Denial of everything. Whatever the reason, I haven't had a very positive self-image.

That's about it. Dave, Amanda and Kristie were in town this weekend, it was nice to see them all. Gonna see more of Dave tonight and possibly in the coming days. Good to see them all again.

An Experiment

I just had a cool idea for a blog related experiment. It would be used to examine the reach of my blog, not just through the regular readers but through degrees of separation.

I recently opened a new Google Mail account. I propose to publish here the name of that account (address) and the PASSWORD for that account and leave the rest to the community to play with. Will they send e-mails there? Will they sort them, delete them? How long until someone changes the password and its unavailiable for use anymore but by that person. Could it ever spring to life again?

I think that this has a infinity of directions it could go.

So here without further adieu is the address and the password... play nice.

Help, Friends and a cute bee dog

Ok so Mr. Smith, a person I've spoken about in the past on this blog, has offered me some advice that was once offered me by another computer wise friend. Buy a crossover cable. So thanks to him. Gonna go see if I can get one tommorrow.

While on his site I found the Valentine to the right. Cute yes, but also, far out.

Been really working hard on this server, hoping to get it up. I've got a few new ideas that are pretty dependant on this server. One involves my top secret new business and the second involves some new interactivity features for our blogging circle. Forums, chat rooms, Aggregators (thanks Lance!) and ad free, cencorship free storage space. Must finish... server... now....

Struggling

Ok so I'm working on the server right now. The problem to start being, I want to network my Windows XP box with this Linux box. I've got two ethernet cards in the Linux box, all hooked up and powered up, but no internet connection to the windows box. Ok no big deal, I figure I have some work to do, but I'll admit I'm having alot of trouble finding documentation on how to do this.

I am not nearly the nerd people say I am/I admit to being.

Oh well, keep plugging I guess.

HOT ASIAN SEX!

Now that I have your full and undivided attention, I have nothing to say.

Shanna, cold sucks, deal with it.

I really can't stay (but baby, its cold outside)

Ok so I walked to work today. I based the outside temp on a previous forecast of -22 Celsius and I dressed according to how I dress during most below twenty weather. I walked to work and FROZE MY ASS OFF. So I start thinking to myself "Christ boy, you've had too nice a winter, it's softened you." I'm fairly notorious for doing things like taking the garbage out during a blizzard barefoot with a T-Shirt on. So this disturbed me a bit.

I get to work and people are talking about -35 and -38. Well no wonder.

MSN 8

If anyone wants a beta of MSN 8 (or MSN Live Messenger as it is now called), drop me a line, I've got some free invites. I'm not too impressed with it frankly.

I've also started using Gmail Talk, still not too impressive. I've also got invites for that if anyone wants.

Just pays to know people I guess.

My first Linux Post!

Yep... I've now covered all the major operating systems posting a blog entry. I've worked with Linux to some degree before, but never since I started doing Pilot's World.

What does this mean? This means if I can figure out what the hell I'm doing with my modem, the server could be up in the next week. That means 20Gb of unhindered mayhem!

Now I've had some interest from some to hitch a ride on the server. Probably could be arranged... especially for favours. I'm not looking for much, I will need donations in the not too distant future of things like RAM, Hard Drives and the like. Funds to pay for my bandwidth would be nice too... we'll work all that out though. Let's get the server running first eh?

Well that's enough for now. I wanna see if I can run two computers on my modem without the need for a freaking router... I have two options I can see. One is there is a USB and an Ethernet connection on the modem... can I use one of each? The other option I know of is to put 2 ethernet cards into my server (the Linux machine) then run an extra ethernet cable to my Windows machine. I've never done this and I'll need to steal/borrow some ethernet cable to see if I can make it work. Failing that, I'm gonna need to steal a router from somewhere. Dammit.

Well wish me luck.

Happy Valentines Day!

Well I expected to be more depressed this Valentines, but I'm suprisingly not. I did have a romantic meeting with my doctor tho. Thankfully it wasn't nearly as intimate as it could have been.

I've been deemed healthy enough for surgery.

BOO YAH!

Next stop Saskatoon.

Would you beleive I'm still all tensed up from Saw 2 last night. My GOD what a film. There are some sick twisted minds out there.

SAW 2

Now I know, I usually give the movie reviews to the Movie Factory site. But that's a family place, and the following is NOT family friendly.

Ok people. I just saw Saw 2.

*shudder*

I shall never sleep again. I don't think I lost a part of my soul on the part where the guy gouges his own eye out and fails, or even when the guy shooting himself in the eye. Even the part where the guy is clubbed or the part where the guy cuts off a peice of his own neck then has his throat slashed with a jigsaw.

No. Certainly it must have been something else that has left me a hollow hulk, terrified for my very being.

What the FUCK?

OK PEOPLE. If all that wasn't enough, at one point a girl is enticed to put her hands in an aquarium through boobie trapped holes so that when she pulls her hands back out, razors slash her flesh and it collects in the awuarium above her head. She is left to cut her own hands off.

OH WAIT, WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER TIME when an ex-heroin addict is thrown into a pit the size of a small pool half full of syringes, forced to find a key to a door that wil permanently lock in 1 minute. I can still hear her screams.

If anyone wants to chat... say anytime tonight... call me, I'll be up.

Howm

So I got to chat with my cuz's Levi and Dore this morning on MSN. I've actually talked to Dore a couple times already. She gets up early and talks on MSN... and I'm just going to bed. They're in Australia see, they're eating penguin, making fun of babies who have run-ins with dingos and drinking all those delicious Australian Beers (which as we all know are in the top 5 of world scale of excellent beers (Ireland, Australia, Canada, Germany...... every other country on the planet.... USA). If you would like to follow their wacky travels, they have blogs. Dore is here. Levi is here.

Helped Corey set up our new DVD authoring setup at work today. Got it all hooked up, and triumphantly start turning on the peripherals... SNAP, POP, KAZOW! And smoke starts billowing out of the monitor. This SHOULD teach Corey not to joke about me blowing shit up when I set it up. IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU! So needless to say, we've got a couple more days till we start authoring DVD's. Now the store smells of burnt plastics and shit.

I've been watching the olympics officially for ... 1.5 hours now. I'm already sick of all the olympics commercials.

  • Bootsy stepped on the remote when I was watching Falling Down last night. The number that came up on the screen? 666.
  • Been watching too much Star Wars at work lately. Think I'm rotting my brain.
  • This business thing is very unusual. It's amazing to see how I'm evolving and changing it day to day. There are alot of kinks to work on.
  • The movie Falling Down is AWESOME.
  • Next month is gonna be intense... eye surgery AND Queen. I'm gonna be a different person by this summer I think.

Blogged out

Ok I'm not sure why, but i feel really blogged out lately. I pretty much know why, but it isn't that important, this is just a blog afterall. So I'll post some important things here and maybe I'll be on hiatus, maybe you'll see a post tommorrow. Now's a good time as the war is waning and I've got nothing huge on the horizon. Andrew and i are still trying to get some meth for our expose, so that will be coming in the not too distant future.

Here is my life right now in point form -
  • I got a call from Saskatoon today. I will be going in for my first eye surgery March 10. i'm stoked
  • Shanna has been kicking my ass to write a business plan. For what? It's a secret. But I've been working diligently.
  • Rob and Kat were down this weekend. Had a blast. Bootsy made Rob run.
  • I'm feeling lonely and I think I'm about ready to at least TRY dating again. Just need to find someone... yikes.
  • I've started working out again. The pain is unimagineable.
  • Andrew is very cool and did some of my laundry for me. He is awesome, I think I'll keep him around.

You know what Job I couldn't do?

I couldn't be a bee keeper. Oh I've talked to a bee keeper and he claims it ain't no thang. Still... I shudder just thinking about it. Yee.

I hate bugs.

In other news, I feel totally out of it today. Not sure if it was bad sleep last night or what but I'm just bleh today. Thank God its a easy day at work. Just design posters and promotional stuff and be on my way.

Ahh.

And I got my copy of THUG fixed so I might be able to kick some ass in that tonight.

Build me a server...

I've been giving serious thought over the past few weeks to building a server. I'm sure this is a project that I'm not gonna do overnight but I should get started. I'll need the following:

A box... a decent machine.. .say 1Ghz or faster, some decent amount of RAM and a fairly big hard drive.

A hub, although I might be able to make this work by setting my PC up to work off the server.

A Linux Distro I can customize to the task. I'm thinking Mandriva as I had used it in its Mandrake form and it worked well.

I already have a monitor, a keyboard and mouse, and and ethernet card, so I'm set in that department. Threw out alot of stuff I used to have that would have been nice for this, but oh well. Just gonna keep my eyes open for stuff... I might be able to make this happen for ridiculously cheap. I will probably be able to build the machine myself, so that's a bonus.

Then I can start hosting shit, without worrying about ads, limits or censoship (not that anything I've posted to date would be censored).

In other news, Rob offered me an SLR to borrow last night. I'm almost positive I'm gonna take him up on the offer. Infact I might just go out and buy one for myself. I've also heard there is a dark-room at the Art Center in town, so I might get into looking at that. I loved doing that type of photography when I was in Jr. High, I look forward to getting into it again.

Well Corey should be here in.... 1 minute... so I'm gonna jet.

Does this offend anyone?

Ok so I'm a fairly regular visitor on Ebaums World. One of the videos posted this week was the following :

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/tourettescat.html

Now I'm a little offended by this one. I think it might be obvious why. Sure he doesn't hit the cats, but it can't be good for them to be yelled at. This and several videos like this just baffle me as to how people can find them funny. There are several videos of parents SCREAMING at their kids and stuff that I just can't figure out. Maybe I'm just not "hardcore" enough.

Cease FIre

Sounds like there might be some real world problems over at CCCP. Now assuming that Dave isn't trying to con me, I'm gonna call a ceasefire on the war while he gets his stuff figured. This is a game... that's real life.

But I will dominate.

New Passwords

I have been forsaken. After all the good times and humor I provided. Didn't I introduce you all on this blog? Dave has dazzled you all with suddenly meaningful awards ceremonies and the like, but the fact is, he doesn't even have links in his blog roll for 2 of the people he awarded prizes to. I do, and have had them since before the war.

Why I wonder if he even knows that Jeff has presented a secret weapon to the warring parties?

Besides, Jeff and Rhonda should have gotten cutest blogging couple.

In orderto beef up security during these times, I have recently changed my password. It was well overdue and since I've had someone I once trusted leave that circle of trust, I've felt it was important to change that. I found a great site that will tell you how good your password is http://www.securitystats.com/tools/password.php.

I was also introduced to a new service called Pandora. Basically you type in what kinds of bands and music you like, and it will create a radio station for you based on those preferemces. So forget about the war for a bit and enjoy some Pandora.com. Then come back and bomb the hell out of Dave.

New Project!

Well all, as you know Pilot's Worls has always prided itself in not only entertaining the blogging community, but also educating and assisting. In that spirit, I have been in partnership with my brother Andrew at Randomization for the following exposee.

In Canada we have recently been hit incredibly hard with the scourge of the drug Crystal Meth. Although stories abound of the effects of this drug, I am personally unaffected by the drug and as such I cannot make conclusions as to the risks of taking it. To that end, I'm getting my brother hooked on Meth.

Follow us as we research the drug, find it, take it and the subsequent addiction and recovery from the drug. I'd do it myself, but then I couldn't blog about it. That's why my brother is prime candidate.

I would also like to send a shout out to my disgruntled sister Shanna who has a contest on her blog right now. After winning two blog community contests, she has now started her own. If you know a great joke, head on over and tell it to her. Now will you quit bombing me please?
