Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

All I have to say is this movie ends with Val Kilmer saying "... and to all those in the midwest, sorry we said 'fuck' so much. Goodnight"

10 Pink Haired Dead Bitches out of 10

Oh The Things I do for Rock

I didn't technically have sex with her as she was asleep at the time.

Hey I'm lonely.

EVERYBODY... grab a cricket bat... the goddamn zombies are coming. Andrew... you know what to do... open the store.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

What if Andrew is ALREADY A ZOMBIE!

Oh Crap.

This week...

... in earnest, I've been working on some of my photography stuff (in addition to trying to keep up with my music). Thanks by the way to everyone's kind comments not only on the two pics I posted here the other day, but also on the until now top secret Photo Gallery Blog I started.

I gotta say the hardest part to date is the prints. I've got the Photoshop post-editing down to a science and I think I'm making alot of headway on how to shoot pics, but this printmaking is still a learning process. And I still haven't ventured into film printing yet. I've got 2 - 1/2 rolls shot and haven't printed them yet. Can't wait to check them out.

Amazing how freaking long this print I'm doing now is taking... about 1/2 hour just in the printing... and if I fucked it up I'll do it again. God bless art.

Now, I'm not trying to be indignant

I don't want to sue anybody. Frankly I'm happy my idea has come to fruition. I just want to brag a bit. Is that so much to ask

Back in Novemeber of '04 not long after starting this blog, I posted a Big Idea post. Today whilst searching the web for something to do, I found it. Nestled in a Neatorama article was my idea come to life. If you had trouble mentally envisioning what I was talking about, here it is, WikiMapea.

SaskBlog Meet!

So I think I'm the first person with a post on the subject. Yay for me!

So, I've got video up on my brand spankin' new You Tube account... so there's a new branch of Pilot's World to add to the list. Check it out here.

I've also got my pics up on my Shutterfly account Here.

It was such a blast! Don't ask me who all was there, because frankly I just don't remember. SaskBoy, next time, I'm bringing nametags. Especially if there's more people.

Bocce ball was a big hit... so big infact that I broke one of the balls. We also had some intense frisbee action goin' and we tried to burn down the park with the grill. When the charcoal says it doesn't need lighter fluid... it means it.

Too much food and too much fun!

The Rider game was fun... such a great last quarter. I know Andrew and I enjoyed our little colour commentary.

me - oh Kenton Keith has the ball again
andrew - imagine that

me - oh here comes another 3 foot punt
andrew - nope it was four feet.

and the ultimate - after that double pass play Jones - Armstead - Jones - Touchdown.. you know the one.

and it damn near was. I need to get out more.

Stupid Riders... go on, break my heart again.

So it's Soulfood's birthday today. Aye Carumba they grow up fast.

Also, it's the SaskBlogger Meet this afternoon.b I'm expecting Homer Simpson to drive by and yell "NERD" out the window of his car at us. But that's cool, at least we know how to use a computer.

I'll take pics... and also have a full report.

Also I'm gonna go see the 'Riders trounce the Argos.

It only took 12 Years

But my rig is finally as tall as I am. I'm like a little school girl. All I can do it giggle.

I gutted the TNT 100 amp I got as the amp in it is pooched. I'm using it as a 15" cabinet, tied into my B4 head. I'll put a picture up one of these days of my first rig setup compared to my current one. Gurantee it's different by a bit. It's pretty funny, I've owned like 4 amps, 5 guitars, 10 or so effects or effect processors, 500 chords (minimum) and about a zillion picks. If I had spent that money on say... food, I'd be pretty fat.

Oh here's a pic of it all if you wanna see

Now if only the rack for my preamp and amp would come in... stupid Cleo.

And the results... and a suprise ending!

Ok so four out of five... and the fifth doesn't count, people knew of the Futurama connection. Billy West is the voice of Fry, Zoidberg, Proffessor Farnsworth, Zap Brannigan.... on and on. But I've long watched the show and though "Billy West, I should know that name".

Well I found out why.

He's Ren and Stimpy. Among others. He's also done voice acting on The Oblongs, King of the Hill, Family Guy, and has been the voice of many of the Loonie Tunes characters (including Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd) in the past 10 years. So I guess that's where I know him from!

In other news I just grabbed the Leader Post from my mailbox. THE STONES ARE COMING!

Ok sorry folks. I want to do an experiment and I'm just hoping to get a bunch of eyes to increase my sample group.

Ok I'm going to post a question coming up. Please post the best answer you can give to this question. Don't look up the answer, don't try and cheat. Whatever answer you give is the correct one. I'll explain everything in a few days, once I'm content with the amount of response.

And now, the question I would like you to answer.

"Who is Billy West"

Comment moderation will be on during this time in order to avoid accedental contamination of the experiment. Please answer only once, concequently, once you have answered, go ahead and look it up. Like I said, I'll explain everything later. Thanks!!!

Martial Arts and Curtis Dagenais

Well the word is out now that Curtis Dagenais the man "suspected" in the murder of two RCMP officers and charged in the attempted murder of a third has written a letter to the Edmonton Sun (of all places), pretty much blaming the RCMP for the whole incident. Although they haven't proven conclusively that it's his writing, it's being taken as his based on some of the details expounded in the letter.

This weekend I had a run in at a small house party with a gentleman of very simmilar carriage. Although the situation is slightly different the attitude is the same, "No matter how bad I fuck up, it's someone else's fault." This isn't the first time I've run upon people like this, and definetly won't be the last. I don't want to be too insulting, this is a relative of a friend, but I was a guest in this gentlemans home, and was entertaining his guests on guitar and he could find nothing but insults and negative emotions to send in my direction.

Now the thing that crossed my mind that night was "I wish I knew how to fight". And I don't mean like Karate or one of those other crappy martial arts where you can't use it unless it's absolutely nessesary. I want one that can be used in almost any situation that has the following characteristics;

a) Painful for the receiver
b) Temporarily incapacitating
c) Humiliating
d) Fast
e) Leaves some long-term but not permanent mark
f) Doesn't permanently injure the person.

Basically the idea is that as soon as one of these guys comes along and starts flashing his balls around, you quickly kick the shit out of him, shame him and put him in his place. And make it so he can remember it for a few days afterwards. Maybe next time he'll think twice.

Oh I know I realize the danger in this, but I'm tired of going into situations with "off the handle" people who are rude, dangerous and angry. Sometimes I want a weapon too.

You Morons Elected the Wrong Guy in 2000

And here's the proof.

I'd post more, but hell I got work to do.

A Long one

Ok this will be a long post. But I feel like typing tonight.

Firstly... I haven't made an apology on this blog for a while... so here goes. I apologize to all my kickass friends for that post yesterday. As shitty as my life gets, I've got two things I can count on to cheer me up, my friends and my family. You all kick ass.

Second, I've got a new best friend. I'm working on the paperwork to get him officially named my new BFF (Best Friend Forever). Sorry to all you other guys, but last night as I sat freezing my ass off in the back of a beat up old Dodge doing 120 down a grid road with a beer in my hand and fireworks wizzing over my head, I knew this guy was a soul brother. Also he likens me to Alice Cooper because we both call him Steven. Me and Alice Cooper... how fucking cool is that?! (Oh and Steven, I've "taken care" of the uh... photo...)

What else? Oh yes, Rush. So I recently found out that Rush are working on an album for a summer 2007 release. That means tour and all that good Jazz. I propose to begin saving up for said tour and going wherever I need to go to see them. Even if it means getting on a plane and going to Europe. I SHALL SEE RUSH BEFORE I DIE!

Hmm... oh Friday night. While I had a slightly negative guitar playing incident on Friday night, once the smoke cleared, I did play the best rendition of "Yesterday" by the Beatles that I have ever played in my life. I finally swallowed my pride and used my "falsetto" singing voice for the high parts and just NAILED it. I've always been reluctant to use my falsetto because I hear people like my Dad, who is a great singer, switch to their falsetto and it all goes to shit. Guess it's all in the practice (and confidence). So there you go Michelle... now how can I hit those low notes?

Anyways, I just got off of 8 days of straight drinking and last night was ROUGH.... I'm still a little drunk I think. I have more good stuff for y'all tommorrow.

Saturday, July 15, 2006

Yep, a quarter century of life today. If only I wasn't stuck at this abismally boring job, in this ridiculously shitty house with no life and no friends.

That said, I do have a pretty snazzy beard.

Feelin' Fine

Got that sorted out.

How about a pic I took yesterday in the RGC. Thanks to Kim, my lovely model last night (oh grow up, it wasn't dirty).

(no, she's not in this one... I'll post one with her later.)

A weird few days

So, I know that my blog has seemed normal the past couple days, but I haven't been. I had a great and positive weekend this past, and yet I leave it troubled. A certain event(s) occured that was welcome, quite so, but unexpected and oddly timed. It's left me confused and speechless as how to proceed. That's all you guys get. Those involved, if they read this, get ahold of me... I hope you know who you are.

Secondly, I rected very weirdly last night to the news of Syd Barrett passing. Basically I stayed up most the night, got drunk and listened to Pink Floyd. Sometimes I forget how much they inspired and influenced me growing up. To this day, a large painting I did at the Comprehensive School in Weyburn bears a hidden message that stated simply "Pink Floyd". I guess I just never really saw myself being the kind that got drunk over the death of a rock star... especially such a short lived one as Syd.

I think my name on MSN says it best, "Pilot-My brain is officially broken"

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Bye Syd

Today as I walked home from work, I passed a house I've passed a million times before. Out the window blasted the dulcimer tones of "Comfortably Numb". "Awesome" I remarked " someone around here likes Floyd". Only moments later I would turn on my computer screen to the news of the departure of Pink Floyd founder, Syd Barret.

I'm blasting you out my window now too Syd. Thanks for the music.

Weekend Photos

So it seems I've gotten into the habit of posting my weekend photos again. Today I posted pictures from Lebret last weekend, and Echo Valley this weekend. I wouldn't bet too hard on next weekend, as I have to work nights at the stupid pool.

But hey swing by my Shutterfly account and enjoy some pics taken by Andrew at the Lebret gig and some pics I took this weekend whilst camping in Echo Valley.

And don't forget to visit and click on the Hunger Site! (Correct link provided this time).

The Hunger Site

Hey all! Just a quickie today... but I might have some more tonight, we'll see.

The gig went really well on Saturday, despite a lack-lustre turn out. Let's just say that if no one connected with the band had shown up we would have been playing to batenders. But it was a good time.. and I never hit Linda (with a "y") with my bass... at least not hard.

If y'all remember correctly, I've been a pretty big pusher of the Hunger Site on this page. Basically, it's a page where in by visiting and "click"ing the button on the page, you donate the equivalent of 1.1 cups of food through viewing advertising. This month, they have set a goal of 271,701 cups of food this month. I'm doing my best to make sure I click everyday, but I'd like to draft my loyal readership to do the same. Mention the Hunger Site on your blogs, put links in your e-mail footers, webpage sidebars and forum posts. I've got the Hunger Site set as my homepage on my computer, so whenever I load up Firefox, the first thing I do is visit that page. I've also seeded links to the Hunger Site and it's sister sites like the Rainforest site and the Breast Cancer site in amongst my links that I visit when I'm wasting time. That way if I'm bored, I make a quick trip and click.

So go visit and spread the word, we can help them meet there goal this month!

Holy cow y'all! It's here, July 1. Unfortunately for humble Pilot, I had to work this morning and I have a gig in Lebret tonight (not unfortunate, but it will put a kink in my beer per Canada Day average).

Hope everyone is having a blast celebrating the birth of that 139 year old broad we call Canada.
