Ahh Technology

So my good buddy Steve is coming up to visit me this week for some fishing and hiking. He's on the bus right now and using his blackberry and my e-mail we've been chatting and keeping each other up-to-date. I'm amazed by the whole thing.

I'm making him Spaghetti.

The Lucky Rider Hat Works!

So I bought this Sask. Roughriders hat this spring. I swore that as long as I wore it, the Riders would win.

Well they did a poor showing in the preseason, but I did notice that the times that I had been wearing the hat during the two pre-season games, they had been dominating.

So yesterday I wore the hat not only during the game, but during the entire DAY... I woke up and put the hat on.

And what was that final score... oh yes, Riders 42, Bombers 15. Sorry for having to hand you your asses so hard Winnipeg... maybe next time.

I will continue to wear this same hat until the Riders win the Grey Cup.

Overwhelmed - STILL

So it's really a big bomb going off. And as I was telling my friend Vanessa, I think I'm gonna hafta just sit alone in the silent dark for about two hours this weekend and just wrap my head around this. I think I'm gonna take a bit of a spiritual journey on the canoe trip and see if I can't put some direction on this spin.

Really I'm torn between short term temptations of good finances and wanting to be with Shawna again as soon as possible and the long term benefits of staying away, poor pay now for better pay later and being away from Shawna, but cementing my relationship.

If anyone understood that last pragraph, please explain it to me.

For something that makes sense visit The Pylon or even better join the Pylon Community at our Message Board.

By the way, Save Toby is/was a Hoax.

Overwhelmed

Well it's been a whirlwind couple days. First off the negative.

My boss is a bitch... no matter how hard I work and try, nothing is ever good enough and I spend the first 20 minutes of every shift being "informed" as to everything I do wrong. My effort and workplace attendance seems to mean nothing because I can't perform a complex task in the time she feels I should. Not to mention the fact that I am the FASTEST employee at said task... a task she can't perform. After a particularily bad morning yesterday, I was on the edge of walking out of work and not coming back.

And now the positive.

I only have a month an a bit left ... max.

Although I had planned on moving out of La Ronge this summer to look for better work, my timeframe has been moved forward. Shawna got a job in Weyburn starting in about a week and a half. Being unable to pay the rent here myself, we're giving up the apartment... and we'll be moving back south in July! Thank GOD!

I'm hoping that I can get on at a good job, something well paying at least.

Also i got an appointment to see an eye specialist (opthomologist?) in September, so I could very well have some new eyes by XMAS!

Exhausted and Busy

So started my walking regime yesterday but taking an hour trapse through the bush behind my house. Someone put up this helpful sign just as you enter the woods in one place. How nice! (Click the image for a bigger version)

IM002085

Also began walking as per the challenge on the Pylon. We've restarted the site, so go check it out... my little bro wrote a bit on giving blood.

Now I am tired. And hungry.

AND THE WINNER OF THE HIRES ROOT BEER CONTEST!!!

So Shanna bullied me enough that I finished the contest and did the draw... but just like American Idol... we hafta draw it out!

IM002115So with my beautiful assistant at my side, we made up slips with each contestants name.

IM002116We folded them up and threw them into the "Lucky Roughriders Hat"!

Then my lovely helper shook and stirred the slips ....
IM002118

What a crazy picture.. her eyes just FOLLOW YOU in that one. Creepy!

And then she pulled out the lucky name...
IM002120

So congrats Steven and stay tuned to Pilots World for more quality content and future contests!

Sorry Shan!

Down To the Wire

So my canoe trip is like.... 10 days away. Time to get into the Hard Core training. I know.. I'm leaving it a little last minute, so sue me. I have done a bit, but admitedly not nearly enough, so I'm gonna start walking to work and the like... plus a pretty intense upper-body workout every night until the trip.

I haven't been this excited about a trip in ages and I'm already making plans for next year. It's about time we went back to Spruce Woods in Manitoba, so I think that will be the trip for next year if no one has any objections.

Well off to make supper!

Hungover

Drank too many beers last night. On a plus note though, I went to a buddy's house and checked out his collection of 45's ... amazing.. this guy had DOUBLES of albums I could only dream of!

Anyway off to do some producer school homework.

And the winner is....

Not decided yet. Until then check out Soulfood's entry at http://homepage.usask.ca/~smp407/index.htm. It's pretty sweet. I had trouble with the Star Wars question ... oh and TELL HER YOU LIKE THE LIMERICK!

In addition to the problems in my life I listed on this blog last week, please add credit problems. Thanks.

I got a spam/virus/theif e-mail today from "e-bay". Filled with spelling mistakes and lacking the obvious knowledge that I have never used e-bay, I concluded it must be a fake. So now I wonder, what should I do with it? Because they're obviously trying to get my info.

So here's what I'm thinking. It send you to http://www.antoq.com/ebay/index.html. Obviously not e-bay. I'm thinking we should maybe spam them or submit like a shitload of fake info.... it asks for credit card numbers and the works.... I think it might be prudent to report them to some sort of fraud agency... FBI or something. So yueah visit the page and if you have any ideas, gimme a shout!

Too Much time on this thing!

Ok so I've done a template upgrade to The Pylon. Still not done, but I need a break. the page should be up and SLOWLY running this week.

I also started a new page called Producer School. I've had several good ideas for careers and yet have made no progress because I have not targeted myself. It's why I made Producer School. I'm of course continuing updates on this page, but I will also be updating the other blogs in my life. I imagine most people who visit this blog regularily won't have any interest in it. it's more for me than anyone else.

So now I need to do my homework everyday. Damn it.

Hires Root Beer Contest Entries Due Today!

Just a quick reminder that all Hires Root Beer Contest entries are due by midnight tonight. I've currently received only 3 entries, so the field isn't very deep.

Please e-mail all entries to HiresContest@pilotsworld.tk. And for further information on the contest, please visit here.

I'll be back on later today with another update, but I figured you all better know that your work is now due!

Insomnia

So here I am awake again at 1:30 in the morning on a work night. No matter how early I wake up, I still can't sleep at night lately, and the sleep I do get is very poor. I go through my days exhausted, then go to bed unable to even close my eyes.

On other notes, the canoe trip is planned and coming up fast. Had a big 7 person MSN chat on Sunday that was fun and finalised everything. I think I've talked to Rob on the phone more times in the past two weeks than I have total since high school. I'm working on getting a little journal together so I'll keep blogging on the river and upload it to here with plenty of pictures when I get back. I'm working on putting a little booklet together on eidble plants and such in the woods... maybe we can have a wild feast.

I'm gonna start planning for next years big camping trip. I want to go back to Spruce Woods next summer as it will be the 3 year anniversary of last time we went and the 6 year of the first time. In particular I want to go back and compare some sketches Mark made then with what might be there now... plus it's a cool place to go.

I'm planning on working on a few new projects tommorrow, among them, getting the Pylon up and running and starting yet another blog, this one dealing with working out a career path I want to pursue.

And I promise, I'll get that special "Google the Pope" article up soon.

Rejected

So a friend up here lent me this DVD that I "just hafta watch" called rejected. I was a little skeptical untill I looked at the back and saw the familliar animation style of Don Hertzfeldt. Although I was never familliar with his moving animations, his cartoon strip, Temporary Anisthetics was a favourite of mine circa 1999-2000. Seriously he had me rolling around lauging.

I used to make this really sick comic strip in highschool called "Sticky Stuff". It was on the same line, but far cruder, more poorly drawn and less hilarious.

So anyway, check out the comics here.

Some of the best in my opinion are,
bobby neurotic eats a sanwich
wisdom teeth (the best of the bunch)
show biz

So here's to poorly drawn hilarity!

Elisha Cuthbert

So this came up in a conversation with Nathan from Subablomic a couple weeks ago and we agreed it would make a good blog topic. We were full of horse-shit.

Basically the idea is Elishia Cuthbert started on Popular Mechanics for Kids of which only Nathan and I watched. She looked something like this.

Now she's a budding actress (well maybe not so budding anymore if you know what I mean....) starring in movies such as Girl Next Door, Old School and House of Wax. She now looks like this.

YES PLEASE! (She could wrap those legs around any part of me.... ;) )

So yeah... anyway doing the "research" for this I learned that she's only a year younger than me, so it's NOT wrong that I was oggling her on PMK. Thank Jesus.

Next time : New Developments in the Google the Pope Scandal with guest reporter Soulfood.

PS _ Almost forgot, as of today, June 7, my little lady Shawna and I have been going out for 2 years... congrats babe, they said it couldn't be done!

Star Wars?

So Shawna wants me to "bootleg" Episode 3 as we live so far north, to go to the city to see it again would cost us like $200. I just have no idea how to go about it. Oh well, guess we'll just hafta live with waiting for the DVD.

10 Days left till the entries for the Hires Root Beer contest are due!

Live 8 and the future of the UNIVERSE! (or Pilot's World)

So it's been announced and it's gonna be cool, there is a new Live Aid this summer, Live 8. And I'm going to be in a fucking canoe on a river in the middle of nowhere. Dammit. Oh well it doesn't mean we all shouldn't keep our eyes open. July 2, 2005 y'all, mark your calendars.

Also, the point of the "Live" show this time, isn't about charity, but about awareness and government pressure. Find out how you can help by visiting White Band.

I'm also contemplating something a little wild. I want to post advertising on this blog. Not for personal gain mind you. But it occurs to me that I have very little financial ability to give to charities like this, but I do have a voice and control over a website that see's a few hundred hits a week. So by placing some advertising on the page, perhaps I could generate some revenue and donate the entire thing to Band-Aid, Oxfam, Red Cross or any other of the thousands of charities out there. I've even had ideas for other "mini-blogs" and the like that I could use to generate further hits.

So I'd like to know from all you dedicated readers if you'd think this was selling out, if it would be worth it and wether you'd support such a move. I welcome your input!

Deep Throat Exposed!

So they finally let the cat out of the bag. The man who helped bring down a president and had a gay nickname the whole time has finally been brought from the shadows.

FBI Official, Mark Felt was Deep Throat. Maybe he can help me find my frisbee? I should give him a call.
