Now THAT is a spicy meatball

There it is, the legend. Blairs 16 Million Reserve. The "hotest" substance known to man. Made of pure capiscum, the chemical responsible for the sensation of heat in peppers, it's measured heat is 16,000,000 Scovilles. Jalapenos are about 5,000-15,000 Scovilles.

Goddamn you Escherichia coli

So lately I've packed a few more pounds around the midriff. No one's fault but my own, I haven't been eating healthy, shame on me. So this week as part of the "Jeremy Getting his Fucking Life Together Project" (JGFLTP) I went grocery shopping and got myself some good food. Among it, some delicious spinach. Now "The Man" tells me if I eat it I'll get sick.

Christ make up your damn mind!

Note To Self :

Stop doing anything.

Had a long day today, but got alot done. I've been burning the candle at both ends this week, but I think it's all good that I am. I also think I need to call my friends more.

"So if I could I'd wish it all away,
wipe out tomorrow, and take you away
You're my peace of mind, my hope, my center
Just trying to hold on
One more day"
Jiambi - Tool

So had a hell of a weekend. Some very hard carpentry work yesterday and today in cold miserable weather left me a few hundred dollars richer. It'll make a good contribution to my college fund.

Jammed with Andrew on Friday night which was really cool and Rhonda last night which was also very cool. Unfortunately had to miss a Regina party due to work, but had a really really good time last night anyways.

Now a chilled back day. i'll play some Playstation, make a really good meal, maybe read a book.

A Clean House and Sane Mind

Well I really got a lot done yesterday. I got a bunch of bills paid, got groceries, cleaned house and jammed with Andrew. And still found time to work an 8 hour shift at work.

Now I'm supposed to be heading out to help build a barn in about 20 minutes... trick it it's cold and threatening rain out there. I must say, I'm really not looking forward to this one.

Oh well, all in the name of a buck.

Um, hmm

So I just found out that the man who shot 21 people, injuring 20 and killing one had a website. I didn't visit it, and won't, but it seems that he had the same epitaph quiz on his blog as I did.

Sure hope he didn't get it from me.

Crazy Fun Extravaganza! Part 2

When we last left our heros, they were dangling precariously from a cliff in the west Indies. Gandlaf had fallen to his death, and Luke Skywalker had found out his worst enemy was his father, his lover was his sister, and his hand had been cut off, so he couldn't even jerk off.

We awoke the next morning slowly. Mark ran to town to get us some water as being on a farm owned by Binns' there is naturally no running water. Or gravity.

We spent most of the morning strolling around the area, visiting the four horses in the area, commiting petty theft, constructing a meth lab and generally being wacky. I think 7000 photographs were taken in this short period.

At noon we rushed to town to the "gift opening" (although all gifts were already open), had some great "Greatest Hit's of the Wedding" food and generally had a good time. Frisbee was played with some abandon.

At 4ish, Mark and I would part ways with Kat and Rob and head back to Weyburn, where for the rest of the week, I would recuperate. Somewhere in there, I found out that Old Skool had been booked to play Kyle McDonald's Housewarming Party in Kipling (The Guy with the Paperclip).

The week was uneventful really. Friday night I spent at my parent's place with my family, getting drunk and playing "Scene It". I would also find out on Friday that for no apparant reason, my phone was cut off. It would be fixed before I awoke the next morning, but it had me worried for a bit.

Saturday, I headed to Kipling with Muray and Linda (with a Y). I brought my whole amp stack.. mostly to show off.

The show was a little rough around the edges, and a bit in the middle, and there was considerable structural damage, rust and infested with termites. But we got through it ok and people seemed to be happy to hear us, so maybe I was the only person that noticed.

The band took some great pictures that night with the assistance of photographer extraordinaire, Mark, assisted by the man himself, Rob.

Mark, Rob and I parted ways with Old Skool then and headed out to the campgrounds to meet up with some of Mark's friends and ... well see what mayhem would insue.

The rest of the night is a bit foggy. I remember smoking in the back of the Club Treehouse Cube Van, of Red Paperclip fame (damn you Capitan Black), had a passionate discussion about the IHOP and watertowers in Fargo from a genuine Fargoodlian and jamming with Rob and Mark's old friend Brad. Rob and I headed home about midnight or so.

Sunday would dawn with the promise of a Labour Day Classic.... my favourite type of football game. Despite being seated somewhere south of Moose Jaw, the game was fantastic and razzlin' Blue Bombers fans is now officially my favourite full contact sport. I decided that night that I'd had a full enough couple weeks, skipped going to a party Kristie was putting on (sorry yo, next time!) and just generally died from there.... I think I started blogging again shortly thereafter, so now you're up to date!

Coming soon! More pictures from the "Crazy Fun Extravaganza", a totally new "Mark Interacts with Animals" to promote the opening of his new blog (HINT HINT) and ... post number 501... yep this is my 500th post!

Talk to you all soon, I got some more wackiness, insane conspiracy theories, a big announcement in the coming weeks and some useless links planned. So stay tuned... I'm back.

Hello Readers

Well, I'm gonna take a few moments away from the wackiness and away from your time, if I may to comment on yesterday's anniversary and the reprecussions on the world.

Five years ago yesterday, I walked into work at the Sears Callcenter in Regina, Saskatchewan. As I walked by the cafeteria I heard one woman speaking to another of "Two buildings in New York were hit and the Pentagon". My first thought is "What was on TBS last night? Only a crappy 90's disaster film could have a scenario like that!"

I walked into the training room I was scheduled to be in to a completely new world.

Let's review the facts -

Sept 11, 2001 - Both towers of the World Trade Center in New York are struck by TWO SEPARATE aircraft within 20 minutes of each other. Less than an hour later, the Pentagon is struck by a third plane. Later, another plane would crash south east of Pittsburg. The Twin Towers are decimated and crumble in the attacks, the Pentagon burned long into the day but stood. All in all, 2,819 people would die from the attacks including all the passengers and crew of the planes, criminals involved, fire crew rushing into the scene of the disaster and people from in the towers, and in the Pentagon. Before nightfall in New York, the United States has launched an offensive in Afghanistan. The nation's press have still not received word of suspected parties involved.

Well after that day the world would quickly learn that it was caused by a group called Al-Quaeda, supported by the Taliban government in Afghanistan. The US would respond by starting two wars, illegally detainig prisoners in secret and offshore prisons, wiretap their own citizens, and put severe restrictions on the nation's movement, freedom of speech or basic human rights.

The man blamed for masterminding these attacks, Osama Bin Laden, has never been caught or spotted by American sources since the attacks.

I found out this afternoon that more people have died to date in the Iraq war than died in the attacks of 9/11. Add to that the deaths in Afghanistan and other "anti-terrorist" projects and you have an administration that is killing it's own people by policy than the enemy is by force.

Mr. Bush, please stop, you're letting them win.
American People, take this man down. Peacefully, with dignity. He means well, but he's a misguided fool and he's making it worse.

Mr. Bin Laden, I have two questions. One, did you imagine this demon you would release, or did you predict it's own self-destruction? Do you pray for forgiveness for all the lives of innocents you have taken?

Well folks as those of you who read this blog or are friends with me know, the past week and a half has been a great explosion of fun and travelling. Aug 23 - Departure for Calgary

Andrew, Jon and I left Weyburn early in the evening, arrving in Regina around 7:30-8 where we sat with Kat at the house conversing with one of the odd eccentrics that live in their area of town. Rob arrived shortly thereafter and we were off. It's beleived that Rob's decision to leave with the car in reverse would come to haunt us later.

A fairly uneventful trip West, a desperate search for an A&W and an even more desperate search for a campsite in Brooks AB left us curled up snugly in a campsite of ill repute on the edge of that town... little did we know at the time.

Aug 24 - Calgary Zoo, Tool

The morning awoke with a row of tents with shopping cart adjacent parking. It appars w
e had set up camp in the the heart of a hobo village. To the side of our campsite lay a pile of what could only be human hair. We enjoyed a quick breakfast of delicious oatmeal and horrific rosehips (Thanks Kat!), then hit the open road.

Only moments later it seemed, we arrived in the vast wasteland that is ... the Calgary Zoo Parking lot. For a score of days it seemed we
wandered the lot, ignoring the direction of the lot signs opting instead to use instincts and a long abandoned form of magic to find our way. We foraged the bushes for food, shared stories to keep our spirits up. Eventually someone looked up and we were on our way into the Zoo. Highlights of the Zoo : The massive hippos, the very large, kinda gross fish in the hippo tank, the kick ass butterfly room (I never really pegged myself a "butterfly" person, tooy faggy, but I really dug these guys), the red pandas (what can I say, they were kinda cute), the pissing monkey, the fucked up cafeteria/food court thing we ate at... blew my mind for only the first time that day, the tiger, the peacock, smoking in the dinosaur park, and on the bridge (damn you Captain Black!), seeing the sad gorrilas (one had recntly died), and really just the scale and scope of the whole place. I hadn't been there since I was a small child, it was great to get a new view of the old place.

Off we went from there to find Davin, then lose ourselves, then Davin found us again, then off to the downtown where Davin and I
lost Kat, Rob, Andrew and Jon, then we were all found, then we went into Davins, found ourselves a bit, then Kat and I gained something else, lost the rest, then headed off to see Tool.

On the way, whilst dropping off and picking up at the car, we discover that the trunk will no longer shut. Some bungee cord and
creative parking left us in acceptable shape to go to the show, but only because it was Tool.

Over two years ago, the Calgary Flames were in the Stanley Cup finals. I and my mate at the time would join much of the rest of the country in anxiously following wether this rag-t
ag gang of hockey players could bring the coveted Stanley Cup back home to Canada for the first time in a decade. I watched, jealously wishing I could be there in the Saddledome, part of this bit of Canadian history possibly unfold.

In the end, they lost the cup, Canada lost it's NHL hockey and I lost the girl. I never thought I would ever feel so romantically about the Saddledome again.

Thanks Tool for giving it back.

I'm not gonna insult Tool by
trying to describe the show. Call me or something if you want to know what I thought of the show. When you see me cry in person, you'll know how fucking good that show was.

Leaving the concert on cloud 9, we were unfortunately to be immediately re-submitted to the horrors of the trip to Regina. Two latenight driving shifts and a shower in Regina later and we were saying goodbye to Jon, and hello to the road to Esterhazy (and goodnight for me f
or the first time since Brooks).

Somewhere in there, it changed to

Aug 25 - Dave and Amanda's Wedding!

At long last we arrived in Gerald, population YOU. A pretty small pl
ace, but neat nonetheless. Rob and all the rest of us went and took some pictures of the wedding crew... well Rob did, I held a big white circle and I think Andrew picked his nose a bit. Eventually, Andrew and I were used to our full potential when the soon-to-be-newlyweds catch a Robertson head screw (the unluckiest of screws as I would learn from a bad curling broom) in the tire of their car. Into action we sprung, changing the tire before they had even left the yard. We then took the car joyriding, picking up gallons of malt liquor and dozens of loose women, consuming both in quantity whilst tearing down the gravel backroads on two wheels, one of them a doughnut eventually arriving at the church doors just in the nick of time for a quick bathroom break and the wedding.

I accompanied Dave on the procession song, blew it (sorry. I trainwrecked) and enjoyed a great wedding. Surely dissappoining thanks to a total absence of lazers, smoke machines, hundreds of blinding, colourful lights, giant screens, white stage, intense metal rhythms and volumes in excess of levels safe even for short periods. But it was nice, and the newlyweds looked wonderful.

Here's where I belie
ve Rob;s Portfolio of "Embarrasing Pictures of Jeremy" starts. Keep in mind : I'm sober the entire time, I just get into party mode... and it's not stopping me. Dave, sorry I sic'd all the homo men at the wedding on you there. I just didn't know there were so many of us "Friday Warriors" out there. The food was also fantastic, the Chilean dancers were wonderful and the toasts were tear-jerkers. Why did Mr. Roman's toast seem like a eulogy for Linger? Kidding guys... kidding. But it was cool to hear what everyone had to say about each other. The dance was also off the hook.

Around 1:00 Rob, Kat and I acquired a new party member (Mark) whilst losing another (Andrew who went back with KT and Steven) and left to the Binns farm. There we set up camp, waxed philosophic, smoked (damn you Captain Black!) and went to bed.

TO BE CONTINUED!!!!

You Just Fall In

Ok man, I discovered this page tonight. Yup, it blew my mind, now I talk like a stereotypical 60's Hippie. Except that part. And that.

Anyway.

The guy is called Ze Frank and he sort of this weird, online, social scientist type. But his page is full of great games and projects and stuff.

I suggest just heading over there and just do what it says. It's pretty good at guiding the user.

Enjoy.
