6:30 PM - New Years Eve
We're having a little mini"before"-party to warm up to the main event. The big one is at Rhonda's where we will be walking momentarily. There the fun begins.
Anyhoo, I'll be taking photos and maybe some MP3 and I can post it here later or tommorrow, Here's a picture for you that I'm gonna take right now...
( PICTURE TO FOLLOW ... once I find a USB chord for my cam.)
This has been Jeremy Pilon, live on location at New Years 2006.
Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, I'm free at last.
Hope I inspired change.

I think it goes...
What makes these times survivable has alot to do with the good people you surround yourself with. I really don't know that I can say enough thank you's to my friends and family who have stuck with me over the past 6 years. Some felt I was too hard to be around and left... and that's too bad because I think I have alot to offer. From bad jobs to a very confusing relationship, I don't know how I've made it this far, but somehow I always try to look on the positive side. And as shitty as I've been feeling the past week and a half, there have been some good people looking out for me. Corey, thanks for the invite, Jeff thanks for the absinthe, Andrew thanks for the rides, Mom thanks for the advice, Mark and Rob, thanks for the music.
Here's a present a little early... my resolutions for 2006 and beyond.
I'm gonna quit the Inn tommorrow. Possibly on the spot. I'm not gonna be walked on anymore. Corey and Laura at the Movie Factory have taken exceptional care of me, and have really shown me what it's like to have good friends AND a good boss. I'll be starting full time at the store as soon as I like, and I like to start soon! I'm gonna go to New Years at Rhondas, I'm gonna play guitar and i'm gonna drink absinthe... not too much, just enough.... and I'm gonna have a good time because i'm sick and tired of missing out on the fun and hearing about it later.
I'm gonna go see Queen in march. That's right, you read right. I'm going to see mother FUCKING Queen in MinneFUCKINapolis March 6 with Corey. And I'm gonna enjoy myself then rub it in the face of my friends... because that's the kind of asshole I'm gonna be in 2006.
I'm gonna (try to) stop pining about what I've lost and look forward to what I can gain in the future and stop making stupid mistakes just because I can/i'm retarded. I gotta leave the past where it is, no matter how hard that is and how many nights I spend awake/crying.
I'm gonna buy a console gaming system and I'm gonna waste a ridiculous amount of time playing video games. I don't care, I want to.
I'm gonna go camping more. Even alone or with Bootsy. I wish I could find some time right now to go... it's pretty nice out all and all and I think I could have fun with it.
I'm not gonna worry about school or careers for a bit. I'm obviously not ready and the rest of the world is to blame for making me think I should be.
I'm gonna start a band, hopefully in the extended-jam style that I'm currently obsessed with.
And I'm gonna keep blogging, because where else can I force all you good people to listen to me bitching!

Yesterday Was Cool

A night too late
Had an extra "participant" on hand that served as a constant distraction, think we'll be avoiding her for a bit.
So got offered a promotion and some other possible considerations at the Movie Factory. Hopes are that it will lead to my being able to leave the bung-hole of an establishment, the Inn. Feck I hate that place. But I guess it pays well.
And tommorrow is Christmas. Been wishing everyone a Merry Christmas as they come in... even if they seem like big tough "cool" guys. I figure if you're too cool for Christmas, you can go blow ... something... ,... yeah.
Anyways, have a great Christmas, and maybe, just maybe I'll post a Christmas message tommorrow. I promise that if I do, I'll be drunk while I do it.

Just when I though...
We had a breif chat, got kinda caught up, and yeah,... stuff. Anyways, he sent me to his webpage and I want to share it with you all here. Check out Paul at http://www.paulschuck.com/ and laugh your ever-lovin' ass off. Paul if you read this, your website lacks a recording of Dead Puppies... so I officially hate you.
And apparantly it seems my life isn't controlled by blogging enough, Corey at work decided that my blog looked so cool that the store needed a blog. So the official Movie Factory website is in blog form. Check it out at http://www.moviefactory.ca. My staff picks updates will now be moved over there as well as any movie reviews or clean store related commentary. Check it out often, we're still updating right now!

The New Blog ... and the retirements
I am also retiring a few blogs that have just died. The Pylon is now officialy retired. Although a good idea, it was way more than I or Shanna or anyone we could recruit could chew. It was a great idea and it may someday risse out of retirement, but for now. Bye Bye.
Another blog I'm retiring is one that some didn't even realize was mine. Abe Taft and "A Southerner in Canada" will be retired this week. Abe was a voice character I invented/channeled on the canoe trip this past summer. Although Abe was the source of endless laughter this summer, he didn't transfer to print that well. Abe is kinda internet shy. He won't be missed.
Everything else is game, thanks everyone for sticking around here.

Staff Picks Dec 20, 2005 and a new Blog announcement!
Last weeks was pretty simple, some got the answer without even looking at the cases. The common link of course was that each movie had a WWF (WWE?) wrestler in it. Pretty simple if you're a wrestling fan. I'm not.
This weeks should be equally easy for y'all. I didn't even hafta use the computer to find this one. Thanks to SHanna for inspiring, but not choosing this theme.
The movies are;
Waiting for Guffman
Ghostbusters
Strange Brew and
American Pie 3 : AMerican Wedding
This week also marks the first time I've SEEN all the movies in my staff picks ironically.
And tommorrow I'll be announcing a new blog as well as officialy retiring two dead ones. I'm still working out the kinks on how to start this one, but I have someone willing to help me start.
Announcements
So whilst I wallow in my self-pity, perhaps you'd all like to check out some new blogs.
First off comes Kristie T (or KT as I call her). She's an old friend of mine who finally decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon. Her site, Kristie T's Memoirs is availiable for your review at http://terferd.blogspot.com. Go on by and leave her a message.
The other new blog on the block is Dave. No, not that Dave, another one. Dave and I used to work together at A&W and both just about got fired together one night when we were caught in a rousing game of Pickle Racing. It's not nearly as gay as it sounds. Anyway, his very humble blog, Boomers Ramblings can be viewed and slandered at http://boomer316.blogspot.com.
I can;t help but think there was at least one or two more new blogs I was supposed to announce. I know I have a few to add to my blogroll on the right. I'll get to that tonight hopefully.
My new staff picks and the answer to this weeks commonality will be up tommorrow night.. so stay tuned!

Shawna and I Broke Up
Fuck am I ever lonely.

The band is Kleinbottle out of Winnipeg. The album is their first EP and is availiable at their website http://www.kleinbottle.ca. I suggest you download it, and play it for every living soul you come across and tell them where you got it and how they too can have a peice of the magic.
The album was completed this past month and has been on limited release on their webpage. I'm hoping to get my own hands on a more official release, but I'll certainly make do with what I can get.
Word from my source in the band is that they are working/will be working on a full length release into the new year, so we can look forward to some new material and maybe some retooling of what's on here.
Anyways, enjoy the album, its good. Visit the webpage as soon as possible, http://www.kleinbottle.ca.

Some experiments happening....
I am currently wokring on using Bloggers Atom feeds to do this. I'm experimenting with it on http://pilotworldlabs.blogspot.com if you wanna check it out.
If you think I'm missing someone or want me to add a blog, drop me a line.
As to the review I posted yesterday.... well we'll learn all about it real soon....
... and in less time than it takes for my lava lamp to warm up, its over. But that short span lasts a minds eternity and in that space I found some amazing things.
A sense of inner peace and happiness fills my dark, decayed emotional shell that has taken over my normally cherry disposition. That the solutions to my problems have been presenting themselves for months finally strikes me... I feel positive for the first time in weeks.
The music is more rhythmic, more structured than I ever expected. The vocals vary, obviously more than one vocalist participated in the contruction of this album. I listen intently for the fingerprint ofmy old friend Mark, who taught me my craft and who will always be on a certain musical plain with me. I also listen for the only other member of the band that I've met in any intimacy, Brad. The playing I assume is his is amazing. Mark is as stunning as ever yet, insecure I sense and maybe a little shy.
I wonder at the production of the album. I see things I would do differently or mix differently. I wonder what the chances of getting the masters so I can remix a track or 6... and I know Rob wants e'm too (hint, hint).
I find myself engrossed in the visualization that Windows Media Player shows during the album (Alchemy : Random). I find myself falling deeper and deeper into the void it presents. I wonder at other visualizations.... what it would be like to try this again with something else to look at.
But mostly I feel good. And yet through it all, I'm glad Bootsy decided to lie her head on my chest while I was listening. This is a good album to listen to with your dog.

I may be the first person in Saskatchewan....
... to listen to this album. I'm fairly certain I'm the first in Weyburn, and definetly the first in my house. I've been wating a short while for this, and tonight I'm going to hear it right.
Tommorrow a day off from my hectic schedule allows me to devote myself to this musical journey with no distraction... and no compromise.
I just finished taking Bootsy out for a walk. A walk of relaxation where I strip away the stress of the day. Where Bootsy leaves her feces in the field of the junior high I used to go to, keeping her quiet the rest of the night. I also take special care during the walk to relax my body and mind so the I can become engrossed with the music I'm about to hear.
I get home, untie the dog, begin to warm my lava lamp and write the beginning of this blog entry to allow the lamp to warm and my walk to fully soak in. I prepare. I look for the files, load them into my player, carefully arranging them in the order displayed on the webpage. The files are prepared and if the lava lamp would hurry I could stop blabbering on my blog and hit play.
I am excited and apprehensive, I have heard clips sent to me of casual jams and evening mind-fucks... but nothing like this. This is evolution, determination, focus and practice. Elements absent from the casual get togethers I've heard before. This is an album. Could it be funny, confused, eccentric or bland? I have no idea, no expectations, no writing skill.
I hit play....
My Staff Picks this week
The picks are;
- Rocky 3
- The Mummy Returns
- Looney Tunes : Back in Action
- The Punisher.
Pretty easy one this week, best of luck.
And Corey's the last I printed, the answer was that Speilberg made a cameo in each movie. Kinda skipped a couple of his picks there... can't even remember what they were, but his picks for this week are;
Die Hard
Pauly Shore is Dead
Funky Monkey
Like Mike
I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm sure I'll have it by tommorrow afternoon. Really haven't even thought about it yet.
Anyways I have 34 minutes to cleanthe popcorn machine, vaccuum, cash out and get the fuck out of work, so I better get at it.

Sorry boutall that
I kid, Corey longs for any human contact he can get.
The link of course was John F. Kennedy. Featured prominently in Fog of War, Farenhype 9/11 and Thirteen Days, the kicker was From Russia With Love which was Kennedy's favourite book and the last movie he watched before his life was taken the next day in Dallas.
DOOZIE!
I don't have my staff picks for this week done just yet, I'll work on them tommorrow, tonight was suprisingly busy.
In other news, I've had an especially bad week (I know where have we heard that before). Something really bad happened in my personal life this week and it's really.... fucked me up. My sense of reality and fairness has really been tested this week and although I've approached the situation with amazing patience and care, I can't help but think it will get worse. Well I guess just be positive and face the problem, don't run from it and hopefully it works out. I know in a couple years it wiil.
Well enough of my negatorivity. I'll be back tommorrow night with some staff pics and who knows.... maybe I'll rant about something else... like some other shitty thing in my massive failure of a life.

On the Evils of Santa
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer : Perhaps the most glaring example of Santa's cynical attitude. We know that for some time, the reindeer made fun of poor Rudolph, and did the big boss Santa step in and stop it? Hell no. On the first occasion, one foggy Christmas Eve, he had Rudolph take up the lead on the sleigh. Now you tell me, how muh fucking good is a glowing nose gonna do you in fog? Would you like to go driving in fog wiht only a dim red glow to light your path? Hell no. Santa put Rudolph in front so his face would find whatever they were about to hit first.
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause - Bastard knows she's married, does that stop his busy hands? Fuck no.
Santa Clause is Coming to Town - Besides his creepy voyeurism of young children (Michael Jackson did it and look what we think of him), we also have him judging and punishing children. Santa needs to spend less time of punishment and more time on rehabilitation. And less time watching little kids while they sleep.
We can also add to these arguments the common popular culture images of Santa's break and enter (through the chimney), alcoholic tendencies (though the rum and eggnog for Santa has been mostly replaced with milk) and filase idolitry, franly it's shocking that the fat bastard hasn't been locked away.

My Ideas of Fun
The idea of these pages is to enter your bill into a database, stating where you found it and the database is then able to tell you where the bill has been and eventually where it goes after you spend it/put it back in circulation.
So I joined up and have been entering the odd bill from work and marking my personal cash, to see where it goes. It's a pretty invoved game, there are apparantly lots of bills out there like this, and once you get into the game quite heavily, you are able to potentially enter hundreds of bills a day into the database.
Anyhoo, if you guys are interested in joining too, the site is at http://www.cdn-money.com and it has all the info you could need to start yourselves into it. They also have a team feature, so if anyone wants to start/join a team with me, get ahold of me by e-mail or check out my profile page on the site.
I should add, that not only are they proudly Canadian, but they are also Saskatchewan based, so the bulk of the users right now are from Saskatchewan (like 59% of the bills entered originated in SK).
In other news, I think Corey has approved my pics for this week as being prize worthy, so folks get your guesses in. the first person to get the correct answer will receive a free rental from Movie Factory in Weyburn. Entries can be entered by e-mailing moviefactory@accesscomm.ca. Best of luck all!

Staff Picks - Dec 06, 05
Dave got my staff pick link last week. It was of course homosexuality. Al Pachino's character in Dog Day Afternoon was robbing the bank to pay for his boyfirends sex change. In Deliverance ... well we all know about the.... incident. Connie and Carla is about two girls who work as a cross-dressing gay bar, pretending to be guys who dress up as girls. And Philadelphia is about a gay man who loses his job after his bosses discover he has AIDS.
This weeks is pretty hard. Corey didn't get the link on the first try, and it is pretty obscure, so chances are he'll approve it for the prize this week.
They are ;
- Thirteen Days
- From Russia With Love
- Farenhype 9/11
- Fog of War
Entries will be allowed in the comments of this blog entry, submitted to me or Corey Morrissette at the Movie Factory or at BLogContest@pilotsworld.tk. I'll post here in the next couple days id the prize is approved.

Slacking at work...
Anyhoo, sitting here reading trivia on movies, Stanley Kubrick ones mostly and it amazes me how someone who is so meticulous in his ways of filming acheived so many trademark shots through improv and ad-libbing. jack Nicholson's "Here's Johnny" and the drill seargeants rants in "Full Metal Jacket" are all unscripted. That shit's BANNANA'S SON!
Anyways, suppose I should say that Dave got my staff picks right, and no one yet has gotten Corey's.
Quel Dommage.
New picks coming Monday night!

I gotta be quick today
Write down your party of choice for the upcoming election. Just the first one that comes to mind. Now write the leader of that party down below that.
That man is a Nazi and eats babies for breakfast.
Rebuttals?
