My Ideas of Fun

So the other night (the 4th) I was vigilantly working away when lo-and-behold if I don't get a $10 bill in my till with the writing "www.cdn-money.com" written across it. Well I had seen such things before and I figured... hell I should visit this page.

The idea of these pages is to enter your bill into a database, stating where you found it and the database is then able to tell you where the bill has been and eventually where it goes after you spend it/put it back in circulation.

So I joined up and have been entering the odd bill from work and marking my personal cash, to see where it goes. It's a pretty invoved game, there are apparantly lots of bills out there like this, and once you get into the game quite heavily, you are able to potentially enter hundreds of bills a day into the database.

Anyhoo, if you guys are interested in joining too, the site is at http://www.cdn-money.com and it has all the info you could need to start yourselves into it. They also have a team feature, so if anyone wants to start/join a team with me, get ahold of me by e-mail or check out my profile page on the site.

I should add, that not only are they proudly Canadian, but they are also Saskatchewan based, so the bulk of the users right now are from Saskatchewan (like 59% of the bills entered originated in SK).

Staff Picks - Dec 06, 05

Well folks we have made a breakthrough. Corey, one of the big bosses here at Movie Factory has agreed to review my staff pick commonalities and if they are sufficiently difficult he will award a free movie to the person who guesses it. This could be a limited time offer, but hey, we can have fun while we do it!

Dave got my staff pick link last week. It was of course homosexuality. Al Pachino's character in Dog Day Afternoon was robbing the bank to pay for his boyfirends sex change. In Deliverance ... well we all know about the.... incident. Connie and Carla is about two girls who work as a cross-dressing gay bar, pretending to be guys who dress up as girls. And Philadelphia is about a gay man who loses his job after his bosses discover he has AIDS.

This weeks is pretty hard. Corey didn't get the link on the first try, and it is pretty obscure, so chances are he'll approve it for the prize this week.

Anyhoo, sitting here reading trivia on movies, Stanley Kubrick ones mostly and it amazes me how someone who is so meticulous in his ways of filming acheived so many trademark shots through improv and ad-libbing. jack Nicholson's "Here's Johnny" and the drill seargeants rants in "Full Metal Jacket" are all unscripted. That shit's BANNANA'S SON!

Anyways, suppose I should say that Dave got my staff picks right, and no one yet has gotten Corey's.

Election Stuff Again!

Hey all! Got a great bit of feedback from theat post a couple days ago, and hey I've started a discussion! Woo hoo!

So it seems most people think my idea of joining a party is a bit extreme in many cases, fine by me, politics is about not agreeing with people. I feel that people were re-stating something I thought I had said, and that was, do your research. So I'll say it again for clarity sake. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Please know what your opinions are and who best fits those opinions before making any choice in the election being it to vote, abstain from voting or joining a party.

Also a good point that was brought up by Shanna of all people about the Green Party and other small parties like that is that a vote for these parties is not a wasted vote. The more votes a party sees in an election, the more funding they get and the more likely they are to be included in things like the debate. I too proudly marked an X beside my Green Party candidate when I lived in La Ronge last year, but due to the absense of a candidate in my riding, I'll go with my next choice. Rob also makes a good point that much of joining a party is simply fundraising for that party, but I feel even by putting my measly $7 in, i'm making my vote more than an X, I'm helping my voice be heard, $7 more.


For those of you not as interested in making the big plunge to party membership or even dedication to an ideology, you undecided voters out there, I leave a good option. The CBC has an Election 2006 page with up to date news on the coming election. This page in conncetion with the webpages of the primary parties (NDP, Tories, Liberals, BQ) should be a good place to help you make a decision.

Finally, I'm gonna leave you with the wisdom of my father. Although alot of people have disagreed with this wisdom when I've presented it, I think it's good and it's my blog so I'm gonna say it dammit. If election day comes and you think that no party is good, and you want to vote for no one, show up to the polling station anyway. Get that little ballot and destroy it (generally by putting a black mark over all names). You will be exercising you right and responibility to the democratic process without contributing to a choice you don't beleive in. People fought and died years ago so we could have the freedom to vote, don't let your indecisiveness get in the way of exercising that freedom.

Election Time!

It's election time again, and that means... a pain in the ass. But the democratic process is important and to paraphrase my sister, we all need to do our research and get involved. I've actually taken a step in the right direction by joining a political party for the first time. i am now a member of the New Democratic Party of Canada. i had thought of joining the Green Party, but I wanted to be part of a party that has a voice in the house and has a representative in my riding.

I encourae all my readers to do their research and if they know who they will be voting for, please join that party. I'm less interested in who you vote for, rather, that you vote. it only cost me $7 to join hte NDP, the green party is only $10 and the cost is tax deductible. I've include links below to information on how to join most (if not all) the federal political parties. If missed any, let me know, i'll post them.

Staff Picks - Nov 29, 05

Well a week has gone by already and only one person got the answer. And no Mark, it wasn't you! Andrew got it after visiting me at the store. The bonus movie was "Stealing Sinatra" which is a dead giveaway as to the theme, Frank Sinatra. The Manchurian Candidate is the original as is Guys and Dolls, which stars ol' blue eyes, All the Way and Stealing Sinatra are both about kidnapping Frank, Oceans 11 is a remake of the Sinatra Classic. Tough Luck Y'all!

Staff Picks - Nov 22, 05

SO most of you were able to figure out that the commonality of the 4 movies I had last week was Bill Murray.

This week will be a bit harder, but still pretty easy. The four movies on my staff picks are;

Future of Pilot's World

So what's in store for Pilot's World? Well I've got some plans, some are already rolling, others are still in the "it's in my brain stage". Needless to say there's LOTS to come. Let's explore some of them.

Pilot's World Bookmarks - This is kinda a two-fold part. I would like to make a page with a list of great bookmarks from sites I find and visit. I have an account started right now at iKeepBookmarks.com but I'm not really too pumped about that one yet. A better one that's I've tried is del.icio.us but I've been using that for another plan on Pilot's World.

The second part is the part that includes Del.icio.us. I've been trying to categorize and label the entire site in hopes of making it easier to find stuff as the page grows. Though with recent advances in Google and my ability to make some change usig Google search, I might just use that.

My Christmas Wish List - Oh yeah. Each year my mom and siblings want to know what I want for Christmas, then they just guess. Well this year, they're gonna know, you're gonna know too. I've started the list with a good service out there and this one should pop up in the next week or so. This will stay up year round as my Birthday and Un-Birthday wish list as well. Rich/generous people should check this out.

Pilot's World Hub/The Airport - Bringing it back to essentials. When I started Pilot's World it was based around a hub page. I want to go back to this style and I hope to have it up and running before the new year. From the page you will be able to access all parts of Pilot's World.

Pilot's World Research Lab - I've used Google services EXTENSIVELY in the creation and running of Pilot's World (AdSense, Blogger, Google Search and GMail to name a few). I'm ripping this idea off as well. Google has a section where they showcase upcoming and beta services they offer. I'm gonna make a section off of the hub page where I will show and discuss upcoming changes and features of Pilot's World. Part of this already exists in the form of my testing blog, Pilot's World Development Labs.

More Community Access - Not really an integral part of my site, but something that it should be a part of. I'd like to make blogging info and help more accessible to people in my blogging circle and try to extend the circle way more. Ideas I'm still throwing around are forums, chat rooms or guestbooks.

PilotsWorld.com - not gonna happen, it's been bought and they want $1000 - $15,000 for it, and well WE AIN'T GOT THAT. But maybe something will come up.

More Selling out - Still looking to make some income from the net, I've got at least 2 ideas for money making schemes on the net, and more I'm sure to come. That's all the info on this you'll be able to get from me. Let's just say all the selling out I'm doing at Pilot's World is just practice (the Pylon was practice as well...).

More Fun and Games - I want to do more Mark Interacts With Animals, More 666, More Saving the World Columns and endlessly more articles to come.

Portfolio - Ugh. I'll probably just post my old portfolio on the hub page at first, but i'd really like to get my portfolio up-to-date and attractive at some point in the not too distant future.

Pilot's world TV and Radio - Ok this isn't as big as it sounds. I'd like to expand the webcam page with other people's webcams and maybe some scheduled programming (Watch Pilot clean his house, party at Pilot's that type thing). I'd also like to do a streaming radio broadcast with friends and my music and some other cool sound files I have taken ( canoe trip sounds, cabin party at Jeff's, jam session tapes).

And then who knows?! I've got infinite possibilities here, just need to keep hacking at it and seeing what arises.

Ok so one of the better things in my life of late is that I've been able to shed the shckles of the DQ and got a job working for my friends new movie rental place... (drum roll)


I've been giving them alot of help with the store and I'm very proud of what it is. It opens today and is gonna be an excellent movie store. I work tonight, tommorrow and all weekend, so you should come check me out. it's located in the old Mattress World Store, across from Cleo's (Music Craft) and next to Joey's Only. The address is like 216 Railway Ave.

Outside last night just before we took the paper off the windows. Even with the paper on, we had customers entering the store to return movies (despite the fact that not a single movie had been rented yet) and families entering to check it out. Once the paper got off, it got worse. A good sign.

Friends of Pilot's World

This was supposed to be the final post this week, but in light of the support I've gotten over the past couple hard days, I'd like to dedicate this one to you guys.

Although I've constantly maintained that Pilot's World was made for me, and for the first few months that's what kept it afloat, the people who visit and interact with Pilot's World are a huge part of what makes it happen. I don't think I would be so inclined to post as much or able to make income off the page if it weren't for my faithful readers and supporters. Here's a shout out to some of them;

Shanna - My sister and first real reader. Shanna has been a constant commenter from day one and has had her own blogging ups and downs. Her original blog, This is Now started around the same time as mine in November 2004. Going through some ups and downs she started a couple more blogs, finally settling on her current blog, Hecticity. Shanna was also co-founder with me of The Pylon.

Nathan - His drive to try something new has kept me on my toes and I'd have to say that for a few months there, fuelled the growth of Pilot's World. Nathan's blog Subablomic was started in May 2005 as a comic site, and although has met this goal only a couple times has been a great window into his brain. Nathan also held the first blog contest after I posted my first contest. Shanna won I think. I also think Nathan was the first to point out the presence of a blog community growing around all my friends online.

Andrew - Little brother and copycat extraordinaire. No not really. He's not technically my brother as he was adopted. HA! Andrew's site, Randomization started in january 2005 and has been a constant source of hilarity. He's so much more emotional in print than in person. He's also retarded. Andrew brough alot of his friends into the blogging circle and is a pretty regular commenter on all the blogs in the group.

Dave - Although not a very regular updater and only blogging since July this year, Dave is a very regular commenter and an all-round positive person. Whenever I have one of my uber-nagative posts, I can always depend on Dave's "Serenity Now?" comment. Dave's Blog Chilean Canadian Christian Propaganda (CCCP) contains the amount of Star Wars references I wish I could put into my blog. His girlfriend calls him David and it throws everyone off.

Steve - How can one forget Steve... I mean I try and he just SHOWS UP! Steve or Steven Matthew Biss IV as he is more commonly (and painfully) called started The Blogginator in February of 2005 with the again painful address http://thisisgoingtobeareallylongaddress.blogspot.com/ (try and remember that). Steve provides me with plenty of material and frankly I could blog just our MSN conversations and it would be one of the most entertaining blogs in history. His blog also is painful. Steven is painful, a warning for any women who might want to sleep with him.

Dore - She's my cuz and it's her blog that has shown me how blogging can shorten distances between people. I rarely get to see Dore, yet I've got a pretty good handle on several aspects of her life thanks to meanderings, started in December 2004. She also won the second Pilot's World Contest in November 2005.

Rob - another newbie to the circle, Rob's blog Enthenogens and Artistic Exploration started in July 2005 is very elegantly written. I always keep my eye on this one to see what he's gonna publish next. For some reason I never feel like commenting on his blog... it seems sacreligious some how.

Jon - Down_Lo, started in February 2005, is the most rarely updated blog in the history of time and yet I think he gets more hits a day then I do. What the hell? Jon's writing is a bit erratic, but entertaining to say the least.

Other blog regulars include Amanda, Jeff, Mark, Kat, Abe and more. Even as i write this, several more people seem to be entering the group and i'm sure by this time next year this list will be 3 times bigger.

A Look Into the Destinations of Pilot's World

I really don't feel like blogging anymore. blogging as an artform is about expressing yourself. And yet the times I've truly expressed myself here, I've been told I shouldn't or am wrong. It discourages the reality of what this is. I might have a billion readers on this blog, I write it for me. I'm going to post the remainder of my pre-written drafts over the next week as I contemplate some things.

Fuck anyone who thinks I should silence myself. This is my blog and I will say, show or do whatever the fuck I want. You don't like it, leave.

It's growing. Frankly when I started this beast, I was pretty ambitious, but I never thought it would get this out of hand. But hey it's fun and I still have a life beyond this computer so that's cool. And now you're tour guide to the destinations of Pilot's World to date.

Pilot's World - The Blog - Updated with as much regularity as I can muster, this is really the heart and soul of Pilot's World. I look at it as the newspaper of my life. If you're reading this, it's likely you know what the blog is about, stupid articles and my life.

Pilot's World Webcam - Started as a viewport into the life of a spider I caught, it has also been used to monitor the new Digicam fund (the jar is still there, and maybe we'll check it out more soon) and to look out my front window. I want to expand on this webcam, with webcams of friends and such.

Pilot's World Store - A vain attempt at making some money. I'm really only starting the store to practice up for a future project. But hey, if you wanna buy something, I'll keep adding stuff and you can help me get closer to that new DigiCam.

Producer School - Sometimes I feel really gung ho about this. Other times, I don't care. But I made Producer School to be a continuous reference of my progress so that I COULD diverge from the path and when I came back I'd know where I was.

Flikr Photo Album - all of the early images for Pilot's World were hosted here and the template images are still referenced from here. Blogger now hosts photos for you, so I rarely use the service any more.

Pilot's World Photolab - A part of the site I wish I worked on more. I have hundreds of pictures I'd like to share and it is my intention to do so. Actually has been secretly the most controversial section of my site. Don't bother looking, the controversial bits have been removed (I hope).

Pilot at Ourmedia - Still working on this section. Once I figure this all out, I'll be hosting sound files and video files from this host. Whenever that may be.

Pilot at GarageBand - I've been doing GarageBand far longer than Pilot's World, but I still count it part of the page. i think my reviews are fairly entertaining and I know I've really liked some of the bands I've heard. I may eventually get a GarageBand Greatest Hits radio station going as I have that in my power there.

Pilot's World Development Lab - In itself, this is under development.

The Pylon - A new defunct project I started with Shanna and ran with Steve and Andrew. It is the precursor to another project I intend to start sometime in the new year.


Other sites that I feel are integral parts of the Pilot's World environment, but are not necessarily in the network include the WMD homepage, The GTO Sunrise Board and the Tri Province Adventure Club Board.

How can you be in love with someone for 2 - 1/2 years and after that time never understand each other.

Pilot's World Year 1 - First Year History of Pilot's World

Hey folks. Had a really shitty Nov. 11. Work was really busy/bad and never made it home at all to post a Rememberance Day post. I apologize to all the veterans and soldiers who died to make it possible for me even to have the free speech to post here. I've always respected soldiers and Rememberance Day. I regret missing it this year, I profited from it in paycheque, but I disrespected those I should honour. A special shout out to my grandpa, Roch Pilon who helped repair airplanes during WW2.

But back to the week of celebration, Pilot's World History!


November 2004 - Shawna leaves for Weyburn for a long weekend, leaving me to fend for myself for three days. I finally have the time and boredom necessary to start my personal webpage, consisting of a start page and a blog that would soon become the center of attention.

I started on a good foot, had several good posts and talked about football alot. Template in these beginnings is Tic Tac Green

December 2004 - the Blog begins to grow as does the blog community. I start the Save the World series which will eventually become The Pylon. Beginnings of my relationship difficulties begin as i propose to Shawna. XMAS and transfer to A&W.

January 2005 - Car and Computer break down. New computer, fixed car. Hate Job ALOT, annouce new website the Pylon, have several good design projects in my lap.

February 2005 - More design work, discover picture of george the rabbit which sows the pet seeds, resulting in Bootsy. Transfer out of A&W back to bakery. Around this time, change template to Thisaway Blue. Cool dreams, fire, curling broom and racism.

March 2005 - Most boring month of blogging yet. Great list on places I've hit my head. People generously add places I've forgotten.

April 2005 - My blogging technique finally takes off. This is the best month I've probably ever done. Pilon for Pope, Things Look better in Black and white, the Missing Frisbee and i made my first template - News of the Pilot.

May 2005 - Wow, another excellent month. Star Wars mentions, Hires Root Beer contest and entries, Pilot's World Advice Column (which only one person has ever sent in for I might add), Live Aid, LAN, google the pope, more bloggers and my first blog scandal (hi mom!).

June 2005 - Football, Canada Day, Announcement of the Hires Root Beer winner, Announcement of the move.

July 2005 - More Football, canoe trip highlights, moving to Weyburn, some good family stuff... mom is still reading my blog.

August 2005 - Busy month... probably the most "information intensive". Mark interacts with animals begins, saving the world, short lived days of my life column begins, new "pinup" template designed and implemented, Producer School started, I catch several vermin, Pilot's world webcam started, old lists reposted, I put a keg in a fridge, scotchfest.

September 2005- Bootsy enters, Hurrican Katrina, Shaq, Saskatoon trip, Spruce Woods trip, first mention of the 666 story.

October 2005 - Blogging contest, second blog controversy (hi Shanna!), selling out, 666, anger and a move.

My Year as a Blogger

My sweet Jesus has it been a year already! Yup it looks like it. One year ago today I had a couple upcoming days off work and Shawna was going home, so I decided to start a blog and a group of webpages called Pilot's World.

I had made several earlier attempts at webpages and an earlier blog, but all to no avail. But this evening would be different. I would start it all, webpage and blog and everything. Little did I know that of all I would put together those days, the blog would become the center of it all. In fact although the independant start page has been eliminated at the moment, it has been under serious consideration to re-launch the Pilot's World main site (or portal?.. the "Airport"!) to act as a launching place for Pilot's World.

This week I'll be posting several "Pilot's World"-centric posts. Included will be "How I Learned to Blog", "History of Pilot's World - Year 1", "Friends of Pilot's World", "A Look Into the Destinations of Pilot's World", "The Future of Pilot's World"

With the exception of tommorrow when I'm going to post a Rememberance Day message, this week is devoted to that which is my online world. Please enjoy.

Sweet Jesus YES!

OK this is amazing.

Anyone who knows me really well, probably knows that I'm a Muppet freak (amongst other things). Well ABC recently announced plans to produce a new Muppet series called "America's Next Muppet", a Muppet reality-TV show.

Now I have one request. PLEASE ABC make it a spoof on reality TV. Although the Muppets have always fit in well with popular TV formats (variety shows were very popular in the 70's hence the Muppet Show, a "third rate variety show" Mark Hammil), it's in the parody of the format that they excelled. I'm sure the people who are carrying on Jim henson's legacy will do well. I mean Muppet's From Space was great as far as I could see.

I guess we'll find out in good time.

A new blog for the List!

So yeah, Jeff's girlfriend, Rhonda has had a blog for a while and Jeff finally got it to me. Called Rescue Regina, so far I've read about her experiences at the halloween party i had to miss thanks to the fact that I work too much. the first MSN blog i have on the list, and I'm not sure I like the look. Of course they do offer many of the services I've had to gather elsewhere in once place, but I dunno... it just doesn't do it for me.

Big shout out goes to Joanna, Scott, Steve, Shanna, and Nathan. Nothing better than having your work interrupted by fresh e-mails! It also helped me to quickly become accustomed to my new e-mail service. Gmail is great and if anyone wants an account, send me an e-mail and I'll send you an invite as the program is by invitation only and I have 97 more invites to give out. Also I'd like to give a big thank you to everyone who sent their best for my grandfather. If you aren't aware, my good ol' Grandpa Pilon (who got the 29 in crib as you may recall) suffered a massive heart attack last Monday that seriously damaged his heart and held him terrifyingly close to death by mid-week last week. Since last Friday he has gone through marked improvement and is now in a state that we consider nothing short of a miracle. Though it is likely he will never be off oxygen and his mobility is severly decreased he is alive and quite well all things considered. I went up this past Sunday to see him and had a good visit with him and many members of my family who I missed dearly (shout out to Dore and Rochelle!).

I sent a few e-mails out about this tonight, but I think I missed a few people, Nathan comes to mind a being one of those...

Kristie T and I were discussing upcoming camping trips that are being planned and we agreed that there should be a central planning area for these things. So I created the Tri-Province Adventure Club (based on this summers Tri-Province canoe Club) Message board. Check it out at

Coming of the Apocalypse?

So i'm a little behind on this story, but last night it happned again, and it prompted me to get into gear on this one. Last night, HALLOWEEN night, we went to the bar and got some drinks. Back comes the bill and what was the total? $6.66. Been seeing that number all too often lately, and it has me concerned.

While we were there, Jeff also mentioned another Devil's Lunch from im Hortons. While he wasn't sure exactly what it was, he thought it included a dozen doughnuts and a Coke. If anyone tries this or any other combination of purchases that result in soe form of 666, send it along, we're gonna follow this story.

Dead Like Me

One of my favourite shows to watch right now is Dead Like Me an hour long comedy about the life of a newly initiated grim reaper named George (fem.). It's a pretty great show and frankly I'd reccommend it to anyone.

In the show George is required to get a real job as being a grim reaper doesn't come with a salary. Her boss at the temp agency she works at is named Delores Herbig (as in "her big brown eyes"). At one point she gives George a holy rolling shitload of collating to do finishing with "I think collating is so Zen." I thought the statement was ridiculous until watching the show with Jeff one day and he commented that he agreed. It got me thinking about some of the mundane jobs I do that I would consider "Zen". For example ;

- Peeling potatoes
- Cleaning the grill at work
- Bagging bread (when I was at the bakery)
- Occasionally I will get it when cleaning a particularily difficult object, especially if its complex and needs to be taken apart and re-assembled.

Anybody got Zen projects of their own?

Delores Herbig thinks collating is very zen. I think peeling potatoes, bagging bread and cleaning a grill is very zen.

Speedruns

Ok we've all seen it. The breakneck speed emplyed by a young japanese boy to beat Super Mario 3 in 11 minutes(and finished with full lives). If you have not seen this video yet and thus are living undera rock and don't beleive me, check it out here at e-baums World.

I had seen some other "exceptional video game play" videos as well, but i recently found something cool at archive.org. It is a webpage commited to "Speed Runs" or completing a video game in a very short time. Some very cool videos to be sure. Including a guy beating Mario 1 in 5 minutes. Wow. It took me 15 years. Now there's a boring video.

He never even uses a mushroom or flower power up. Just regular small Mario the entire play. No glitches used either, and very little killing... only when needed. This could be a lesson for some of the world's powers. Sometimes staying small and avoiding violence is the best way to solve a conflict.

There is also a video of a guy beating Legend of Zelda :Ocarina of Time in under 5 hours, but I don't wanna hafta wait for that one... hey Andrew, you could try that... I mean hey, you've done it with 3 hearts!

The Long Walk

I took Bootsy out for a long walk at Tatagwa Parkway - Signal Hill Trail and had a blast this afternoon. The trail is the more popular of the two Tatagwa Trails and as such has more garbage, vandalism and traffic, it does highlight some of the more beautiful aspects of Weyburn. It also highlited to me the growth of Weyburn as a city and how we will soon surround these natural wilderness. Rob speaks of the influence of man even deep in Stanley Park in Vancouver. It's happening here too Rob. Incidentlally, I've thought of a great way to keep everyone informed of walks and outdoor trips that I'll implement tonight. A ProBoards message board that we can all announce stuff like this on. I'll have more details here and by e-mail tonight.

Speaking of Rob, his girlfriend and friend and co-birthdayer to me, Kar has a blog of her own now. Called "Who Writes Blogs Anyway? Must Be Those Freaks" I've obeyed her first wishes on the blog and taken a picture ;

Jeff is now back to blogging full time, i seem to have convinced him it's the right path. Now all tha't s left to get blogging is Mark. If only there was a way to get him blogging.... hmmm.

Impending Doom

So as we can all recall a few weeks ago I posted a scan of my paycheque in which I was paid exactly $666. Well today Andrew informed me of a "Devil's Lunch" he bought at 7-11 consisting of;
- A chocolate Milk-to-Go
- A grab bag of Old Dutch Potato Chips (flavour undetermined)
- A small container of Dill Pickle Dip

It's cost $6.66. Then as we're talking about it, Blair from work breaks in and mentions that his bank account balance was recently $666. Now I'm not trying to panick anyone, but I think the apocalypse is coming. I think the coming of the date June 6, 2006 (6-6-06) might have something to do with it.

I have a theory that intentionally causing all of these events to happen will open a gate to hell which will signal the start of the apocalypse. I'm game, so I'll start tommorrow by buying the Devil's Lunch at 7-11.

Moan!

Ok so I just got home from my second job. Al I wanna do is hit the can and make a deuce. But Michelle has like a dozen people over and the house smells like the mall entrance to the Bay. So I'm a little self concious about bustin' a dook right now.

I'm a Very Angry Person Right Now

Yep, it seems everyone is out to piss me off. At least I made amends with Andrew, now everyone else on the other hand... well we'll just hafta kill them off.

What to blog about

What should I blog about? Should I talk about how I've been slandered by my own sister. I could sit here and defend myself, but frankly I'm having some fun on a shitty little blog and i'm getting so used to being backstabbed by my sisters that I'm not giving it anymore discussion. Those who want to have fun with me can, those who don't can go fuck themselves.

Jeff is back blogging. He's discussed some more cool plans on how to take power from Mr. George Bush, and hopefully he continues to blog. I know I'd really like to see it. His girlfriend, Rhonda is apparantly also a blogger, hopefully he gets me her link so i can add her to the collective.

To clarify the rules from the contest yesterday, the entires must be POSTED from the locations, not just written, that would kill the challenge of it all.

Have been MSNing my ass off lately. Rob and I were MSNing this afternoon. Sounds like he isn't having as much fun in Vancouver as he should be, but I know he'll get above it and enjoy the experience. I also managed to blog with my old firend Alex Roy whom is currently in China. Was amazing to reunite with an old friend a world away.

Yes that's the EXACT time the girl at 7-11 toldme it was. Not "twenty to two" not "one forty". In reply to my question "do you have the time?" the girl at the counter replied "it is one-thirty-teven-twenty-two" thank god she gave me the seconds or I would have been late.

Bootsy and I went to 7-11 after our first successful visit to the vet this afternoon. She had her first checkup with Dr. Andrea ClarkeIt all checked out well, she's in perfect health. The doctor felt that Bootsy was certainly a year and a half old if not two years old. Pretty good shape all around, I'm gonna hafta contact the Estevan Humane Society tommorrow and get her medical history... as well as any other history that I can find.'

All I know is I think Bootsy drank her big gulp too fast... look at her! Pretty tuckered out!

Walking with Bootsy

Probably the hardest but most rewarding part of now owning a beagle is their insatiable energy and untruswortiness off a leash. This causes me to take Bootsy on long and frequent walks for everything from potty breaks to simple exercise. While on these walks I see alot more that I would have previously missed. I've learned to appreciate my surroundings more and see alot more of the world and my community. It's also increased the bond between me and my dog.

What most facinates me are the hidden and forbidden places. Like for example abandoned or unused buildings. There are several in Weyburn and it never ceases to amaze me how these huge once bustling buildings are now empty and cold. Also neat are the hidden places, small parks and hidden paths. I know I'm not the first person to discover or use these places and paths, but they are not places I would normally visit. I look forward to winter coming so that I can see the paths that I can't see in summer and follow the escapades of another person... or animal.

Yeah big whoop wanna fight about it. I'm getting ad-sense on this here blog. What does that mean for you? It means more content, updates more than once a day... more than three times a week. It means hopefully better content, like porno and stories of my dog (but not together).

For me it means I'm gonna start saving up for a new digital camera that I'm now nearly in desparate need of. Mine is on the rocks and nearly dead, so I gotta start working on a new -BETTER one now.

New band, New Day

So Andrew, my bud Steve Dreidger and I are starting a new band. We're gonna practice tonight in the garage. Should be a tonne of fun. We start the band at 9:15 tonight, maybe we'll have some pics up or some music or something to show you. Or maybe not. Who knows.

I am a little upset. I watched the movie Be Cool last night at my buddy Steve's. I found the movie hilarious, but one part disturbed me. They stole my old bands name... sorta. In the movie there is a hip hop/gangsta rap (I know rob will correct what I've called them) group called the Dum M D's. Well hell my old band was called WMD. This is off the hook, See I can prove it, check out our old website. Oh well nothing I can do about it, I'm not suing MGM.

Anyways. Found my wallet that had been missing for several days. It has slipped under the seat of my parents car. Thank god, I was shitting myself over it. But anyways, I better got get some cleaning done, so see ya all later.

So wow. Just spent the past 2 days helping Shawna's dad and uncle shingle her grandparents' house. I love that kind of work because yup can get some good honest work done, get some fresh air, drink and at the end of the day, the girls make you supper and do the dishes. I'm not being sexist, I just don't like doing dishes.

Pretty exhausting though, especially when the two days before I had done the double job thing (23 hours in 2 days). Slept like a log last night, probably will tonight too.

Life feels like its picking up again. I know, I know don't let my guard down or something is gonna happen... knock on wood!

Ladies and gentlemen...

I got a dog. Hells yes. So now this is gonna turn into one of those crappy cute blogs where I make a 3 page post everytime she takes a shit. Now that's devotion.

She's about a 1 year old beagle cross adopted from the Estevan Humane Society. Quiet, obedient and above all loves everyone. One of those dogs that would lick a robbers face and show them were the valuables are.

On the way home, my buddy Steve and I who came with me to adopt her came up with the perfect name. After P-Funk bass player and cool dude all the 'round, Bootsy Collins. So my new Pup's name is Bootsy. Bootsy is a good name becuase Bootsy the bass player kicks ass.

OK so Michelle wants an update on the eyes I came to get checked here. I say fuck that son!

So Shanna and I came to this here internet cafe at the U of S called Browsers, so here I am, blogging at an internet cafe... another check on the list. I should make and "ultimate places to blog from" list. To date they would be (including a check on which I've completed).

Shanna and I went tearing around the U of S campus last night. We saw a bajillion cool things. Included are ; a bunch of dinosaurs (T-Rex, Triceratops, raptor, that one with the plates on his back), some cool rocks and crystals, THE BIGGEST ASS KOI I'VE EVER SEEN (Like 30 lbs EACH), SOme cool aquariums with chiclids and some wicked sturgeon, the Thorvaldson Building with the large concrete cube that is reputed to contiain Throvaldsons wheelchair bound remains inside (check the photo lab in a couple days to see a picture of me sitting on it), the airplane room (a room with hundreds of paper airplanes stuck in it's incredibly high ceiling, rumor has it that WW2 fighter pilots were trained there and threw the planes there, if their plane fell, they had died in the war), John Deifenbakers grave (where I made an inappropriate joke and suddenly my digi cam wouldn't work, so I apologized and it worked again... weird) and the cool atrium and glass elevator at the Agriculture Building.

Wow any one of those things would have made a blog entry. Really. Anyways, got the rest of the day ahead of me, but this is likely my las tone from here in S'toon for now!

Well, it's official, I'm going to Hell

Yep, I participated in this, and now my fate has been sealed. A friend of a friend names Abraham Taft asked me to help him with posting a blog online. So I obliged. Now, I'm going to hell.

Although he hasn't put much up yet, just from talking to him, I'd suggest some viewer discredtion before reading his blog. He's a little.... conservative for my tastes.

Shaq : Steel in My Book

See that guy to the right. That's Shaquille O'Neal as the titleing on the image suggests. He's the star player for the Miami Heat. And incidentally everytime he comes on TV I am heard to remark enthusiastically (and sarcastically), "Oh boy I hope he's making Kazaam 2!"

Why do I treat such a happy looking guy so poorly, even though I don't know him? Well mostly my spiteful attitude towards rich sports celebrities and plus he's a terrible actor.

But the other day I stumbled across this article at Sports Illustrated Online that changed my mind a bit. It seems Shaq is not only writing a cheque or playing in a celebrity gold tournament to support those affected by the hurricane. He's getting his hands wet. Him and his family have rented a warehouse, hired trucks and are personally handling and moving donations from the community at large. This is above and beyond his call of duty, but by his example more people will be inclined to help out. really makes me respect the guy that much more.

Maybe next time, I won't be so rough on him when he approaches the free throw line.

29 and... ain't no more....

Grandpa you crazy sonofabitch. Yep that's my grandpa there (article courtesy of the Melville Advance, the most news-starved paper on the planet). Got his first 29 in crib. Only 80 something years to do it too! And to top it off grandma dealt it to him on the morning of their 55th wedding anniversary (how CUTE!).

It's inspired me to play crib more, infact I've hit Shanna and Rob up for games, and I know I'm gonna be trying to play more. If I'm gonna get myself that 29 and be the fourth generation, I better start playing the odds NOW.

But congrats to grandpa on that once in a lifetime acheivement!

Also, Shanna wants me to blog on Googles new Blog Search. For those of you who don't know, Blogger is owned by Google (gasp!). So they have a cool search now. Included in this change is the new search section on that useless toobar at the top. So now you can search this blog (saving all of us YEARS of work) or other blogs as well. So yeah, that's pretty cool. But not nearly as cool as Google Maps.

So I have good news, bad news and more good news. Then some other stuff as well.

Good News : I found a new home for Brain, Pilot's World's First Pet. It's an old sauerkraut jar with some dirt and a stick.

Bad News : Brain is dead. I think he dies last night sometime, it was pretty cold in my room and he wouldn't move today.

Good News : Within like 2 hours Michelle had found a new BIGGER spider, so he's in Brain's new jar. I've decided to let the people name him, send me some name ideas, and I'll put the suggestions on a poll on Friday. You can check him out at the Pilot's World Webcam. Not only is this guy cool, but he's like 3 times the size of Brain!

In other news, there are some changes in my little blogging community or as I like to call it, my "stable" of bloggers. One, Shanna who threatened to quit on us has decided not only to stay on, but to switch over to Blogger. She's got a great idear for a blog, and I'm helping her with a good template. I won't put the link up to her blog yet as she's still building it, but rest assured it will be good.

Second, my ol' pal Mr. Jeff is blogging now. With the aply named blog "George Bush Sucks" what really amazes me, is that his blog has been around as long as mine. That's right you heard correctly. He's been blogging since November of last year. In fact, would you beleive his blog predates mine by 2 days. Sonofabitch! Anyways why am I mentioning him since he hasn't blogged since? Well in hopes that maybe, just MAYBE he might restart. I think he has things to say, and by doing this I can encourage him to do so. Now we just need to get Mark blogging.... Check out Jeff Here.

On a personal basis, I went to the animal shelter today to get some info on adopting a dog. Pretty easy process, $40 and it's yours. That's about it. Small dogs are hard to get and theyreally kinda cut you off once the pet is in your possesion. So now I have a lot of research to do (vets, grooming, training, supplies) in addition to finding a home we can share before I can take that plunge.

Going to the animal shelter I came to realize the immense cost they go through, food, immunizations, taxes, wages etc. You can help support animal shelters by adopting pets instead of buying from pet stores, volunteering and there's even a click to donate site for this too!!!!

Carlo's Place

Ahh my favourite little store. Carlos is a great little guy witha little store on the hill in Weyburn called Carlos Place. Need to have anice evening? This is the place. you can ge tanyting there, confectionary, video rental, fresh baked bread, HUGE subs, Donairs (if you've never tried one, you haven't lived), pizzas and so much more.

What also attracts me to this store is Carlos himself. He;s SUPER friendly and always has something nice to say to you and is very generous with his clientele. I would seriously reccommend that anyone visit this store as often as possible and support ol' Carlos.

Also, if you're a big camping fan like me and are looking for deals, well you know this is the time of year to buy crap. I just bought a little camp grill, a camp pillow, a 18 tool knife and 3 bungee chords for ... $1.50 at wholesale. They have other crap too if you're looking!

Ok kids we have a bit of an emergency. I love all my firends' blogs. I like to read their thoughts, their current events, their games. I always viewed my blog as a newspaper, just for my life. I post and discuss the issued of MY life. And the comments are your editorials. Needless to say, in the past 9 months, I've held blogging prettly close to my heart, and the blogs of my friends and family mean the world to me.

Well one of them is gettin disillusioned. She's done it before actually and somehow we managed to pull her out of the slump, but she's back again. My lil' sister Shanna figures that since we don't comment, we don't read so she feels like she's wasting her time. So today is Shanna day! Go to Shanna's blog and comment on a post. I was planning to do a little write-up promoting my favourite store today, but something came up yesterday and changed my mind to a post about a different, but also great business.

This year my old boss, Brian Bakken is celebrating 30 years owning the Weyburn Dairy Queen. He's a great guy and a pretty good boss, infact I always said if he was my boss in any other industry, I'd never quit. Any ways, he had a big 30 year anniversary deal at the store yesterday and it was cool to see everyone, my mom and I (she's also a DQ veteran) went and said hi to everyone. Why does positive blogging week hafta fall on such a SHITTY week???????

Ok franly I'm having a hard time remaining positive. I sliced my thumb open bad ly at work and had to spend the rest of the day in shock trying to work.

But let's stay positive.

Looks like I'm going camping/hiking/backpacking/something this weekend with Rob and Kat.


My paycheque is over $100 more than i was expecting! Woo hoo!
